Haldwani, Amrit thoughts: The team of Uttarakhand Vigilance Establishment (Vigilance) Haldwani on Tuesday arrested the registrar Kanungo of Bajpur Tehsil of Udhamsingh Nagar district, taking bribe.
According to the information, Vigilance Haldwani’s team received a complaint on the help line number 1064 that the registrar of Bajpur Tehsil, Kanungo Mohan Singh resident Vidyavasini Colony, Chaiti Chauraha, Kashipur land is seeking a bribe of Rs 3500 in the name of offering land.
The investigation was handed over to Vigilance Haldwani. The complaint was first tested by the Vigilance team. The trap team was formed when the facts were found to be correct. The team arrested the accused red handed taking a bribe of Rs 3500 from Tehsil Bajpur. Prosecution is being registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act and advance action is being implemented.
Vigilance Director Dr. V. Murugation appealed to the general public that taking and giving bribe is a criminal act. If a government employee demands bribe in exchange for working, then complain to Vigilance on help line number 1064. He has announced a cash prize to the trap team.
