Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has flagged off four new heli services. Through these services, air connectivity has now been established from Dehradun to Nainital, Bageshwar, Mussoorie and Haldwani to Bageshwar. The Chief Minister also held virtual talks with all the passengers after the inauguration of these heli services. The Chief Minister said that these heli services have been launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Udaan” scheme, which aims to deliver air travel to the common man. This will promote tourism and economic development in the state. Better connectivity will also bring positive changes in the lives of local people. The Chief Minister also informed that Bageshwar, Nainital and Mussoorie are also important from cultural and religious terms. The natural beauty of these regions, historical temples and rich culture attracts the tourists of the country and the world.
Giving examples, the Chief Minister said that Nainital is famous for its beautiful lakes and religious places like Nayana Devi Shaktipeeth and scissors Dham. At the same time, Bageshwar region is known for its holy Bagnath Temple and Uttarayani fair. With the introduction of Haley Seva, now tourists will be able to reach easily to enjoy the beauty and culture of these areas.
The Chief Minister also informed that it takes 8 to 10 hours to travel by road to these places from Dehradun, but with the start of Heli service, this journey will be completed in just one hour. Apart from this, people living in these areas will also help in emergency. So far in Uttarakhand, heli services on 12 Helleports have started successfully. The Chief Minister said that work is going on on the construction of 18 heliports in the state, due to which other remote areas of the state will also get air connectivity. These heli services will not only make travel easier, but in emergency situations, these services will provide relief to remote areas of the state. The Chief Minister said that the government is also working towards the expansion of international flights to make Uttarakhand a major tourist destination globally.
