The women of Etawah in Uttar Pradesh have expressed happiness by getting the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The scheme has been made to provide LPG connections to women of families living below the poverty line (BPL). This initiative, which was aimed at improving the lives of women, has left a deep impression in all communities. The women of both Hindu and Muslim sects have thanked the Central Government for this.
In the holy months of Holi and Ramadan, the spirit of unity and celebration filled the atmosphere, as the eligible women of all communities came together to get their gas refill subsidy. The distribution program took place in the Prerna Auditorium of Vikas Bhawan, where a large number of women received subsidy in collaboration with representatives of various gas distribution agencies in the district. As part of the scheme, a total of 1,61,000 eligible women were provided benefits in Etawah district.
Of these, there were 28,000 beneficiaries, in whose accounts, Rs 561 was deposited directly as a subsidy of gas refills. This initiative reflects the constant commitment of the state government to empower women through access to clean cooking solutions.
BJP MLA Sarita Bhadoria, who was involved in the program as the chief guest, appreciated the plan and greeted the women of Etawah. He said that our Chief Minister has given great clarity on this scheme for the benefit of women of Uttar Pradesh. He said that this is a big step towards ensuring the access of women to more efficient methods of cooking and cooking. He congratulated all the residents of Etawah on the occasion of Holi and Ramadan.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed subsidy of gas cylinder refill to 1.86 crore eligible families of the state. He emphasized that the state government has allocated Rs 1,890 crore for this initiative, which is part of a large investment of Rs 3,760 crore in this scheme to improve the upliftment of families and improve their standard of living.
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana launched in 2016, provides very important relief to BPL families by giving free LPG connections. By March 2024, more than 10.27 crore women across the country have benefited from this initiative, and there are plans to expand it in the coming years.
