Telangana CM Revanth Reddy: On Wednesday, the Managing Director and a reporter of the online news channel were arrested for posting objectionable materials against the ruling Congress government and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in Telangana. Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police arrested P. Revathi and B Sandhya in connection with a case registered under the Related sections of the Information Technology Act and the Code of India Code (BNS). Police said that both the accused are accused of joining the Telangana government and the Chief Minister in posting objectionable material on social media.

According to a Hyderabad Police release, the complainant, working as the state secretary of the social media cell of the Congress in the city, received a ‘derogatory’ video on the Internet on March 10. In the video aired on social media, the representative of the online news channel was allegedly seen interviewing an unknown person in a ‘inflammatory’ manner. Police said that during the interview, an unknown person made a ‘abusive’ remarks against the Chief Minister of Telangana, which clearly reflects the intentional attempt by the channel to discredit Revanth Reddy and make false propaganda.
The complainant said that in addition, the video was actively broadcast on social media, causing it to go viral. According to the police, during the investigation, the police arrested Revathi, Managing Director of online news channel and news channel reporter Sandhya. Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala criticized the Congress for arresting journalists in the crime of showing frustration and plight of the farmers of Telangana.
