Swine flu has started spreading once again across the country. Swine Flu ie H1N1 virus infection is increasing rapidly in 8 states of the country. Due to this, the concern of the government has increased once again. In January this year, 516 people in 16 states were in the grip of swine flu infection. At the same time, 6 people died during treatment. The most ie 4 people died in Kerala and 1-1 deaths in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh.
Monitoring will increase in these states including Delhi
According to the NCDC report, the situation in Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu is very serious. NCDC has appealed to increase monitoring in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Karnataka and Delhi regarding swine flu.

- Karnataka- 76 cases
- Kerala- 48 cases
- Jammu and Kashmir- 41 cases
- Delhi- 40 cases
- Puducherry- 32 cases
- Maharashtra- 21 cases

347 deaths due to swine flu in 2024
In the report submitted to the Union Ministry of Health, NCD said that in 2024 20,414 people were hit by infection, 347 died. At the same time, in the year 2019, the maximum number of 28,798 cases were registered, in which 1,218 people died.
What is H1N1 virus?

Center formed task force
The central government has formed a task force for immediate response on swine flu as before. It includes the top officials of different ministries including the Ministry of Health, NCDC, ICMR, Delhi AIIMS, PGI Chandigarh, Nimhans Bangalore, Science and Biotechnology Department.
