In the case related to the Manipur violence, the Supreme Court has sought a CFSL report on the alleged audio clip of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh. This report has been sought in the seal cover within 6 weeks. The court asked the Manipur government to ensure that it does not become another issue. It will be heard in the week starting from 424 March.
Please tell that a petition has been filed by Cookie Organization for Human Rights. In this, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has been accused of inciting caste violence in the state. It has demanded an inquiry under the supervision of the court of some leaked audio clips, in which the CM is allegedly saying that he allowed and saved the violence to the matches. Advocate Prashant Bhushan appeared on behalf of the petitioners and said that the tape recording that has come out is very serious.
A lab has confirmed that 93 percent of the sounds are from the CM of Manipur. SG Tushar Mehta appeared on behalf of the state. He has sent the recording shared on Twitter to CFSL Lab. Private laboratories cannot be trusted. The SG said that the petitioner should first move the High Court. SG also informed that an FIR has been registered in relation to the case and investigation is going on. The investigating agency has also contacted the Twitter account who uploaded voices for verification. The tape has been sent for forensic examination.
Questioning the petitioner, SG said that the petitioner is carrying some “ideological burden”, which has a ‘X` separatist mentality’. He said that even the panel of judges constituted by the Supreme Court has expressed concern by some civil society organizations.
