Amrit thoughts, Haldwani. The Energy Corporation is installing smart meters in the consumers’ house across the district. Under which 6660 meters have been installed in the district so far. While the department has got the target of installing 1.88 lakh new smart meters across the district. The department will also install smart meters in the homes of its outstanding consumers. In the first phase, the houses of the Energy Corporation, office, officers and employees’ houses are being linked to smart meters.
In the second phase, work will be done to install new meters in government offices and buildings. The Energy Corporation has also directed to increase the team from the contracted company to expedite the work. After the smart meter is installed, the reading of the bill will go to the automatic energy corporation’s office and the bill will be made directly to the consumers’ house. That is, consumers will get rid of reading problem after installing smart meters.
Consumers will not be able to create pressure
The Energy Corporation has given strict instructions that no pressure will be made on consumers. However, in a phased manner, the work of changing the meters in the houses will continue to be done. But if a person wants to install a new meter first, he can contact the department.
