Shammi Kapoor was a superstar of his time. He gave many hit films, including Junglee, Tumsa Dekha, Dil Deke Dekho, Singapore, College Girl, Professor, China Town, Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya, Kashmir’s Kali, Animals, Third Manzil, Andaz, An Evening in Paris, Brahmachari and Sachhi are long list. However, like other superstars, his sons are not mentioned. Therefore, the audience rarely knows about his family. But today we are telling about his son, who is earning a name not in cinema like his father Shammi but in business.
Shammi Kapoor’s son’s name is Aditya Raj Kapoor. Aditya was born on 1 July 1956. He is an actor, filmmaker, writer and businessman. He is the son of Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali. He studied at Lawrence School, Sanawar from 1963-1969. Later he left school. He came into the limelight when he took a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Indira Gandhi National Open University at the age of 67.
Few people will know that after finishing schooling, Aditya started his career as an assistant director in his romantic film Bobby (1973) with Uncle Raj Kapoor. He then directed films like Dharam Karam (1975), Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), Giraftar (1985), Ajuba (1990) as Assistant Director. He also played a walk-on role in the film Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978).
At the same time, he started work as a producer with the 1989 film testimony. Zeenat Aman, Tanuja and Shekhar Kapoor were in the lead roles in this film. He then produced the television show, one two to three (1987–1988) and Mama ji (1992–1993). Later, he opened the construction company, except for films and developed a fantasy land in Mumbai and an admission park named Appu Ghar in Delhi. He also has a business of truck and warehouse.
After a long gap from Bollywood, Aditya Kapoor stepped into writing and directing the Dont Stop Dreaming and Sambar Salsa (2007). As an actor, he worked in Jagmohan Mundra’s Chase (2010). In the same life (2010), I also worked in Yes to Love (2012) and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2011). Apart from this, he appeared in the television series Everest directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
He wrote his first book Bike On a Hike in 2015, in which he told about his biking experiences. He has also written a book called Quest, in which he has written about his experience of these 35,000 km travel on the bike.
