Barabanki, Amrit thoughts. DM Shashank Tripathi gave strict instructions regarding the operation of medical stores. In a meeting held in the collectorate’s Lok Sabha, he said that only pharmacists can sell medicines at medical stores. The DM clarified that it is mandatory to have labels on all medicines. Strict action will be taken against those selling expired medicines. The DM also directed to take action against those running unlicensed medical stores.
Ration distribution system was also reviewed in the meeting. The DM expressed concern over the Ghatauli to be done by the Kotdars. He directed the officials to regular monitoring. DM gave special emphasis on the investigation of Khoya and other foods in view of the Holi festival. Also instructed to investigate branded products.
He said that action should also be taken on illegal mining and plotting. The DM asked the departments of transport, supply and business tax to conduct regular checks. He directed to collect samples of food items and send the lab on time and take action on the basis of the investigation report.
