Hathras: A passenger was killed and 17 others were injured when a collision between Uttarakhand Roadways bus and Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus on Aligarh-Agra Road in Chandpa area of Hathras district. Police gave this information. Police said the accident occurred near Meetai village, when the bus from Uttarakhand Roadways going from Agra to Tanakpur collided with the Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus going from Hathras to Agra.
Officials said that Vijay Singh (52), the driver of Uttar Pradesh Roadways Bus, died on the spot. He was a resident of Ticket village in Sadabad, Hathras. The injured also include the driver of the Uttarakhand Roadways bus, Younis (47), who is a resident of Alinagar, Uttarakhand. Superintendent of Police (City) Himanshu Mathur said, “The collision took place in Chandpa area at around 3 am. The driver of the Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus died in this accident, while about a dozen passengers were injured.
He said that on receiving the information, Chandpa police reached the spot and all the injured passengers were taken to Bagla District Hospital. “After preliminary treatment, three seriously injured passengers were referred to Aligarh Medical College after preliminary treatment.” He said that the officials are investigating the cause of the accident and further legal action is being taken.
