The Bihar government has issued a notice to more than 1.50 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) even after depositing the required amount in their private bank accounts. Bihar Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar said in the Assembly on Wednesday that the department has also filed a ‘certificate case’ against the 19,495 defaulters, who have not built houses under the scheme despite the government several months ago despite the government approved the total amount (installments).
Kumar said, “A total of 82,441 beneficiaries were given ‘White’ notice, which is a warning to build a pucca house to avoid departmental action. Apart from this, 67,733 beneficiaries have been given ‘red’ notice, which means that despite repeated warnings, action will be taken against them for not completing the construction. ”
The minister said, “Certificate case ‘is filed against them if people do not hawk even after the notice of” Red “. The department has also filed a ‘certificate case’ against 19,495 people.
Under this scheme made keeping in mind the poor living in the village and countryside, pucca houses (minimum size of space 25) are provided with all basic facilities.
Financial assistance of Rs 1,20,000 per unit is provided to make the plains, while financial assistance of Rs 1,30,000 per unit is provided for hilly and inaccessible areas like Himalayan and North Eastern states and union territories like Jammu and Kashmir. 60 percent of the scheme is provided by the Center, while the remaining 40 percent amount is borne by the state governments.
