Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Organization Openai’s Chief Sam Altman plans to visit India next week. The news agency ‘Reuters’ gave this information quoting 3 sources. Altman’s visit to India is taking place at a time when Open AI is facing legal challenges.
Roots Coted sources as saying that Sam Altman can come to New Delhi on 5 February. One of the sources said that a meeting with government officials was also included during this visit. The schedule of the journey has not been decided yet, in such a situation, there can be a change in their planning.
Altman came to India in the year 2023, at that time he met PM Modi. During this meeting, he discussed the ability of AI to promote India’s tech ecosystem.
Openai has been facing many legal challenges in India since 2023. Last year, Openai was accused of breaking copyright. News agency ANI filed a case against Openai in a Delhi court.
Several book publishers, dozens of digital media outlets and later billionaire Mukesh Ambani, proprietary companies of Adani Group also joined it.
In his defense, Openai argued that he only used the data present in the public domain with methods protected by principles. Openai also said that the Indian courts have no jurisdiction to hear the case.
