Triple divorce, which has become a curse for Muslim women, may have been legally abolished, but some people are still carrying that conservative tradition. Something similar happened in Meerut, UP where a video of divorce on the road is going viral, that too in front of the police station. In fact, the police had called both sides to the police station to resolve the ongoing dispute between husband and wife. During this agreement meeting, the husband came out of the police station and divorced his wife 3 times and a video of it was also made. The police is now taking cognizance of this video.
This video is of that ritual of divorce, which was played on the road on 9 March in front of Lisadi Gate police station in Meerut. Uwais, a resident of Bulandshahr, divorced his wife Gulistan 3 times from leisurely and broke the husband’s relationship. Gulistan, a resident of Meerut, was married to Uwais, a resident of Bulandshahr on 24 April 2024, went to Dubai to do Uwais job after Nikah and he reduced the attention to Gulistan. Due to which there was a dispute between the two sides. Recently, Uwais came to India and reached his in -laws in Meerut to pick up his wife, but during the conversation, the dispute erupted and the matter reached the police station.
Lisadi Gate police station of Meerut took Uwais into custody, but two parties were given opportunities to resolve the matter by negotiating. After several hours of hard work, there was an agreement between the two sides and agreed but on divorce. In fact, the family members of Gulistan wanted either Uwais to leave the job of Dubai and stay with Gulistan in India, or to take Gulistan with them to Dubai. But both of these conditions were not acceptable to Uwais. Therefore, both sides decided to end the husband and wife’s relationship with consent. Now the time has come for 3 times, the policemen sent both sides outside the police station for this work. In the presence of both sides on the road coming out of the police station, Uwais divorced Gulistan, videography of this ritual of divorce as evidence was also done.
Despite the agreement between the two sides, the police station Lisadi Gate Police cut the challan in the stream of peace and later Uwais also got bail. In the police station premises, the police took full care in keeping their bodies innocent in the police station premises, the police did not even know about the videography of divorce in front of the police station, which later went viral. Now police officers are talking about investigation and action.
Gulistan’s brother Chavez Ansari told Lokjanta over the phone that this decision of divorce has taken place with his consent and his family is not willing to take any legal action against Uwais. It has been decided in the agreement that the same by the two sides, the same in the marriage, such as furniture, jewelery, clothes, etc., will return to each other. The amount of Meher fixed in Nikah has also been given 25 thousand rupees to Gulistan from the Uwais party, with which Gulistan has sat in Iddat. According to the rigorous law made on divorce, if the girl’s side does not agree, then giving 3 divorces is a crime, although with the consent of both sides, 3 divorces in Muslim society are still continuing.
