How Lat Saheb’s parade started on Holi
The old people of Shahjahanpur say that in 1729, the people of Hindu-Muslim religions went to play Holi in 1729, the home of Nawab Abdullah Khan, the last ruler of the Nawab Bahadur Khan dynasty, who established the city. The Nawab played Holi with him. Later, the Nawab was placed on a camel and rotated throughout the city, since then this tradition has been going on in Shahjahanpur.

Change in Lat Saheb’s parade during British time
After independence, this procession was named Lat Saheb’s procession. In British rule, the governor was called Lat Saheb. At that time, Indians used to hate them due to the oppressive policies of the British. This fire of hate gave a new look to this tradition of Holi.

3500 personnel deployed for peaceful Holi
