New Delhi:
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has demanded the Election Commission to appoint an independent observer for the New Delhi seat, accusing his party’s workers of attack before the Delhi Assembly elections. In a letter to the Commission, Kejriwal also demanded to arrest the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers involved in such cases and suspend the police officers concerned. There was no immediate response from the BJP and the Delhi Police to the claims of Kejriwal.
The former Chief Minister in the letter cited the incidents of alleged attack on ‘AAP’ workers on the Delhi seat. On Saturday, ‘AAP’ MLA Mohinder Goyal was allegedly attacked during a public meeting in Rohini area. The incident took place when AAP candidate from Rithala assembly constituency was talking to the local residents of ‘Pocket H’ of Goyal Sector 11.
