A scientist of the Indian Science Education and Research Institute (IISER) lost his life due to alleged pushed by a neighbor over a parking dispute in Mohali. IISER i.e. Indian Science Education and Research Institute has expressed grief over the death of Scientist Dr. Abhishek Swarnakar. In a statement, IISER said that he had lost a talented and strict action has been sought against the accused.
We lost talented scientist,
“We have lost a talented mind. Such an act of violence is unacceptable and strict action should be taken against the accused.” The statement also mentions that Dr. Swarnakar was selected by the Department of Science and Technology in 2017 to meet the Nobel Prize winners. It says that his research paper was recently published in the prestigious Journal of Science.
Scientists returned to India recently from Switzerland
Scientist Dr. Swarnakar recently returned to India from Switzerland and joined IISER as a project scientist. The 39 -year -old scientist died on Tuesday night when his neighbor Monty pushed him to the ground and punched him during a dispute over the parking issue near his rented house in Sector 67, Mohali.

What did the scientist die in a quarrel
In the CCTV footage of this incident, some residents, including the accused, are seen standing near the scientist’s bike. After this, Dr. Swarnakar can be seen moving towards his bike and removing the bike, only then there is a debate between him and the people present there. A few seconds later, Monty can be seen pushing and beating Dr. Swarnakar on the ground. After this, the scientist’s family family intervened and pulled Monty from there. The accused took the victim to the hospital.
Scientist’s mother told what happened that day
Describing Lokjanta as a painful incident, Dr. Swarnakar’s mother Malti Devi said, “They used to bother us often, do not park here, do not park there. She (Abhishek) returned from IISER that night and parked her bike. They asked her to remove the bike. They were debated. Was doing. My son went down.
Police in search of absconding accused
Police said that Swarnakar was suffering from kidney disease and her dialysis was going on. He was a resident of Jharkhand and was living in a rented house in Mohali with his parents. He was a researcher in IISER in Mohali. Gagandeep Singh, the station in-charge of the Mohali Police Station Phase-11, said that a case has been registered against the accused under Section 105 (non-intentional murder) of the Indian Code. Police said that the accused is absconding and efforts are on to catch him.
