Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed happiness over Mauritius’s highest civilian honor ‘Grand Commander of the Star and Ki of the Indian Ocean’ (GCSK). He said that I am proud to be honored with Mauritius’s highest civilian honor. The special thing is that this is the 21st international honor given to PM Modi from a country. PM Modi shared a photo on the social media platform X and wrote that I am honored for being honored with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and the Indian Ocean of the Indian Ocean and that too on the National Day of Mauritius.
Prime Minister Modi attended the 57th National Day celebrations of Mauritius as the chief guest. During the ceremony, Mauritius President Dharambir Gokhul honored him with Mauritius’s highest civilian honor ‘Grand Commander of the Star and Ki of the Indian Ocean’ (GCSK). This is the first time that an Indian politician has received this honor. Prime Minister Modi dedicated the award to special friendship between India and Mauritius and 1.4 billion people of India and his 1.3 million brothers and sisters living in Mauritius.
Earlier in 2024, PM Modi was awarded Kuwait’s biggest honor ‘The Order of Mubarak Al Kabir’ and Guyana’s highest civilian honor ‘Order of Excellence’. On 21 November 2024, Dominica honored Prime Minister Modi with the ‘Dominica Award of Honor’ to Prime Minister Modi for his dedication of India’s contribution to the help given to the Caribbean nation during the Kovid-19 epidemic and to increase his bilateral partnership between the two countries. Dominica President Silveni Burton awarded Prime Minister Modi with this honor.
Prime Minister Modi was awarded Nigeria’s highest honor in 2024, ‘The Grand Commander of the Niger’ (GCON) Award. With this, PM Modi became the second big person in the world to get the highest honor of Nigeria. Earlier, Queen Elizabeth was the only foreign person who was awarded the award in 1969. On 9 July 2024, Prime Minister Modi was awarded Russia’s highest civilian honor ‘Order of St. Andrew the Appostal the First-Call’. On March 22 last year, Prime Minister Modi was awarded Bhutan’s highest civilian honor ‘Order of the Druk Gyalpo’.
