Ignoring the rules for issuing work orders to the favorites, four contractors obtained the tender by putting a hostage FDR in the construction work. When the records were matched while reviewing the work, the fraud was exposed. After this there was a panic in the municipality. Because this work was done with the connivance of the employees and a few officers. In charge of this, the EO in charge now summoned the four contractors and issued a notice to them. Further action will be taken after this.
Please tell that tenders of construction work were removed by the municipality. In which various works were approved. The rule is that contractors taking tenders have to deposit FDRs as 10 per cent of the total cost. The work which is released after the completion of the work, but the FDR has already been used in the case of taking tender in the municipality. An FDR of Canara Bank was imposed by AS Enterprises in the tender that exited 22 February 2025, but who is already hostage in the name of Nagar Panchayat Naugawan Pakia EO.
Similarly, another contractor also deposited the old FDR in the municipality, which belongs to Punjab National Bank. This FDR is hostage in the tender for construction works released by the municipality in the past. Sandhya Traders has also imposed an FDR of Bank of Baroda. Which is hostage in the name of Nagar Panchayat Jehanabad EO. Another contractor has also imposed an FDR of the Central Bank in the tender. Which is hostage with Nagar Panchayat Jehanabad EO. This FDR seems to be photocopy. Notices have been issued to the four on behalf of EO Ashutosh Gupta in charge when the fake came to light. After this revelation, there was a panic in the municipality. Now the FDR engaged in old works is also being checked.
The already hostage FDR has been used by some contractors in the tender carried out earlier by the municipality. A show cause notice has been issued to the concerned contractors when the matter comes to cognizance.
