The Enforcement Directorate has achieved great success in the case of fake Chinese loan app scam, which gives people and then people implicating people in blackmailing. How did the loan app scam?
- The case started with 11 FIRs registered in Kerala and Haryana, in which people had complained of blackmailing in the name of forcibly extortion and more interest.
- After downloading the fake loan app, the accused hacked the mobile data of the victims. Later, he was forced to transfer money through bank accounts.
- ED investigation revealed that the looted money was sent to the accounts of fake companies and transferred abroad.

In this case, ED raided more than 10 locations including Mumbai, Chennai and Kochi in February 2024. The ED seized mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices during this raid. Also, an amount of Rs 123.58 crore was freezed in many bank accounts.
