A Delhi court has ordered an FIR against senior journalist Rana Ayyub. He is accused of posting derogatory posts on social media platform X in the year 2016-17. The Saket Court of Delhi ordered the police to register an FIR on female journalist Rana Job on 25 January. The court said that at first sight, a case of cognizable offense is made against him. The police need to investigate this.
According to the report of the news agency PTI, the allegations against the woman journalist include insult to Hindu deities, spreading anti-India spirit and provoking religious hatred. Rana Job has not reacted to the court’s decision. He has definitely re-posting news related to order to register an FIR with his X handle.
In the order issued on 25 January, the court said, “Prima facie by the facts of the case, for Section 153A (punishment for promoting enmity among various groups on the basis of religion, caste, birth, residence, language etc.), 295 A (deliberately and malicious task, hurting its religious sentiments by insulting the religion or religious beliefs of a class, and under the 505 (disputed statement) of the IPC, they become cognizable offenses. ”The court said that the court said that in view of the seriousness of the allegations It was appropriate to order an inquiry.
The court said that the facts given by the complainant are such that the state machinery is needed as a police investigation. The complainant (lawyer) will not be in a position to collect evidence.
