Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday on the 95th anniversary of Dandi March, led by Mahatma Gandhi, who played an important role in the freedom struggle of India, that this movement still inspires people to fight against injustice in a non -violent manner.
Yogi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “Today, in 1930, ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi started the Salt Satyagraha from Sabarmati Ashram to give a new direction to the freedom struggle. This historical Satyagraha still inspires us for non-violent struggle against injustice. “He said,” Naman to all the satyagrahis of Dandi March. ”
Mahatma Gandhi started the Dandi march in colonial India in protest against the taxation on salt and the monopoly of British salt. He started a march from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and reached Dandi after a 24 -day walk. After this March, there were demonstrations against the British salt law across India and a large number of Indians participated in it.
