New Delhi :
The Supreme Court was heard in Delhi-NCR for pollution and burning of stubble. During this time, the Supreme Court has directed to hold a meeting on the steps suggested by the Commission for Air Quality Management for the management of Parali to ban Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Also, the Supreme Court said that we cannot hold only one state or just one stakeholder.
During the hearing in the case, Justice Abhay S Oak commented that the burning of stubble in Punjab cannot be held only responsible for Delhi’s air pollution.
Punjab gave Delhi AQI data
In fact, the Attorney General of Punjab has given AQI data of Delhi after November 15 in the Supreme Court. He said that the last time there was an incident of burning stubble for the last time.
The Punjab government told the court that in December and January, Delhi AQI touched 400 and despite the curb of the incidents of stubble burning, it continues.
AG Gurminder Singh of Punjab told the Supreme Court that Punjab is committed to ending the burning burning, but how much is we contributing to it as a state? You can decide on this.
Instructions given to file affidavit
On this, Justice Abhay Oak said that you are right. We cannot hold just a state or just a stakeholder. CAQM is a suggestion note on the management of Parali. We instruct them to file an affidavit after consultation. CAQM will submit its suggestions with the lawyers of the parties by 17 March.
