Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday appreciated the general budget of FY 2025-26 presented in Parliament by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and informed about the provisions made for the railway. He informed that about 100 Amrit Bharat, 200 Vande Bharat and 50 Namo Bharat trains have been approved in the budget.
Ashwini Vaishnav said that a historical provision has been made for the middle class in the budget. An allocation of Rs 2.52 lakh crore has been made for the railway in this budget. With this allocation, the development of the railway will get a new wing and the expansion and modernization of the railway network across the country will be rapid.
He said that the railway has expanded in the last few years under the leadership of PM Modi and now new projects have been approved by this budget. In the budget, about 100 Amrit Bharat trains, 200 Vande Bharat trains and 50 Namo Bharat trains have been approved. Apart from this, one thousand flyovers and underpasses will also be built, which will further improve the facilities of the passengers. In the field of railway safety, Rs 1.16 lakh crore has been invested in this budget, which will further strengthen the safety of the railway. Along with this, construction of new tracks, dabbling, tripling, new stations and new train services are part of this budget, which will further strengthen the railway network.
He further said that the construction of bullet train is also progressing rapidly. In this budget, more than 340 km bullet train line work has started. In this project, new and state -of -the -art techniques like building a tunnel below the sea are being used, which is happening for the first time in India. Apart from this, there is also fast work in the construction of bridges and new stations built on the rivers.
