Why is there so much fuss with the statement of Kerala minister
Kerala is a minister these days in a lot of discussions about his statement. His statement is now becoming fiercely viral on social media. The name of this Kerala minister is George Kurien. In the general budget, he said that there is no specific announcements about Kerala and said that if you want funds, then Kerala will have to be proved backward first. This statement has now led to a debate on social media. It is being said that the minister was also upset with ignoring Kerala in the general budget.
Soon after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget speech in the Lok Sabha, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that it was a disappointing budget for the state. He said that the Center has ignored his request of funds for rebuilding Wayanad. This is also special because the landslide here in July last year killed more than 400 people. In the budget, Vizhinjam port of Kerala was also ignored. We requested a special package of Rs 24,000 crore in addition to the special Wayanad landslide package. In view of the national importance of Vizhinjam port, we had also requested support for this, but none of them were considered.
Kerala is being punished for its benefit in education and other sectors. Said that our state does not need much, we are already ahead in many areas. There are some areas where Kerala is lagging behind. But we do not get any support from the central government for the upliftment of these areas. He said that Kerala has been badly sidelined in this budget and it is unacceptable for us.
