A group of MPs belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tribal community on Monday gave notice of breach of privilege against Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi to use the words ‘derogatory and condemnable’ against President Draupadi Murmu. . Under the leadership of Rajya Sabha member Sumer Singh Solanki, he met Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and demanded disciplinary action against Sonia Gandhi. BJP MPs said that Sonia Gandhi has done the work of hurting the dignity of the President.
This notice has been given after Sonia Gandhi addressed in a joint session of Parliament on Friday, with the remarks made on President Murmu. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were seen discussing speeches in the Vadra Parliament complex.
In a video shared on social media, Sonia Gandhi is being heard saying, ‘Poor woman, the President was very tired till the end … she was barely able to speak.’
BJP MPs said in the notice that this comment is a clear expression of Gandhi’s elite and anti -tribal mentality, which has no idea of the struggle and sensitivity of the tribal poor.

The notice said, ‘We are writing very disappointed about some unparliamentary, derogatory and condemnable comments made by Rajya Sabha member Sonia Gandhi recently against the President, which seriously consider and take disciplinary action Needed.’
He said in the notice, “With deep concern, we are underlining this statement which seems to reduce the height and dignity of the President of India, the highest constitutional authority of our country.”
He said that such comments not only reduce the dignity of the post, but also violate the correction of parliamentary processes and traditions.

22 MPs from tribal communities, including Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, also gave a separate notice to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday, demanding action against Independent MP Pappu Yadav for Murmu’s remarks.
He called his remarks as ‘derogatory and anti -tribal’.
