Manikant Mishra, SSP of Uttarakhand district Udhamsingh Nagar, along with about 300 policemen, raided several places including Agras of Fatehganj police station on Sunday night. Seeing the heavy force of the police, the health of a young man’s daughter deteriorated. The family admitted him to the hospital. The police have found nothing from the smugglers in the search during the Dabish. Bareilly police fully supported the Udham Singh Nagar Police despite the rage without notice.
Inspector told 16 detained but SSP told 25
SSP Udham Singh Nagar issued a press note stating that 25 persons were detained at two places in Bareilly, while Police Station Pulabhatta asked to take only 16 people into custody. One of which was sent to jail.
1500 smugglers sent to jail in last five years
SSP Anurag Arya said that 1357 cases of NDPS Act were registered in the last five years and 15 hundred accused were arrested and sent to jail. In this, about 200 smugglers have been sent to jail in 176 cases in Fatehganj Western police station. The police seized assets of about 116 crores of these smugglers under the Gangster Act.
Four smugglers have been detained under the Pit NDPS Act. This year too, 103 criminals have been sent to jail by registering 51 prosecution under the NDPS Act in 69 days since January 1. The Bareilly police are continuously taking action against illegal drugs as well as all types of criminals. In the last eight months, 72 criminals have been injured in a police encounter and were detained in jail.
