The Delhi government is ready to sign an MoU with the National Health Authority on March 18 to implement the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). Official sources gave this information on Thursday. With this, the 35th state/union territory will become the implementation of Delhi Health Insurance Scheme. West Bengal will be the only state that has not adopted this scheme.
Memorandum of Understanding can be signed on 18 March
Sources said, “On March 18, a memorandum will be signed in the presence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda and five families will be given AB-PMJAY cards, making them beneficiaries of the scheme.”
The implementation of the scheme was one of the major promises of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Delhi Assembly elections. The previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government had launched its own plan and refused to implement AB-PMJAY.
