Deb Mukherjee, the uncle of actress Kajol, the father of famous actor and director Ayan Mukherjee, has passed away. He was 83 years old and was battling the disease for some time. He was undergoing treatment in the hospital, but this morning he died on the day of Holi at his house in Mumbai. A close relative gave information about the time of death to ABP News. His last rites will be performed at 4 pm today at Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai.

Deb Mukherjee had been organizing ‘North Bombay Public Durga Puja Pandal’ for a long time, which is one of the biggest fortifications in Mumbai. Every year big celebrities of Bollywood are involved in this event. Kajol and Rani Mukherjee often helped their uncle in organizing this puja. Deb Mukherjee’s family in his brother Joy Mukherjee, who was an actor, and brother Shomu Mukherjee was married to Kajol’s mother Tanuja. In this way Deb was a very close relative of Kajol, and during Durga Puja he was often seen showing affection from Kajol.
