Tiloi/Amethi, Amrit thoughts: A fierce fire broke out in Rashid’s sweets shop located in Tiloi town at around 10 pm on Monday night, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees. The incident has worried the traders and shopkeepers in view of the huge consumption of sweets and Sevai on the occasion of Holi and Ramadan.
The huge amount of sweets and sevai kept in the shop was gutted. The fire was so strong that it spread to the first floor of the shop. Local people tried to extinguish the fire at a private level, but they proved to be a failure in front of the fire. After this, the fire brigade was informed, which reached the spot after about an hour and after hard work, the fire was controlled.
This incident has raised an important question as to how the shop caught fire, while there was no electricity connection in the shop. At present, the police is investigating the case, but the real cause of the fire is not yet known. The accident is estimated to have a loss of about Rs 10 lakh, which can prove to be a major shock for traders.
At present, hundreds of people are gathered at the scene and the local administration is investigating the matter seriously. With the introduction of Holi and Ramadan festivals in Tiloi, this incident has proved to be a big shock for the people, which has an atmosphere of anxiety among the shopkeepers.
