New Delhi. Reliance Industries’ Digital Services Company Jio Platforms Limited has signed an agreement with American industrialist Elon Musk’s SpaceX to provide Starlink’s broadband internet services to its customers in India. The company gave this information on Wednesday. The agreement is subject to approval to sell SpaceX to sell Starlink satellite communication-based services in India. A day earlier, Jio’s rival Bharti Airtel signed a similar agreement with SpaceX.
Reliance Jio Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Matthew Oman said, “Our cooperation with SpaceX to bring Starlink into India strengthens our commitment and is a transformative step towards uninterrupted broadband connectivity for all.”
Oman said, “We are expanding our reach by including Starlink in Jio’s broadband ecosystem and this AI (Artificial Medha)-Increasing the credibility and reach of high-speed broadband services in this AI (Artificial Medha) -Ching era, which is strengthening communities and businesses across the country.”
The agreement enables Jio and SpaceX to find how Starlinks can carry forward Jio offer and how to complement SpaceX’s direct offers for consumers and businesses.
The statement said that Jio will provide starslink solutions through its retail outlets as well as its online storefront. According to the statement, Jio will not only introduce starlink equipment on its retail store, but will also install a mechanism to support customer service ‘Installation’ and ‘Activation’.
